ADC performance specifications are generally categorized in two ways: DC accuracy and dynamic performance. Most applications use ADCs to measure a relatively static, DC-like signal for example, a temperature sensor or strain-gauge voltage or a dynamic signal such as processing of a voice signal or tone detection. The application determines which specifications the designer will consider the most important.

I went through the manual, it says in the differential mode it will work as 15 bit ADC. If anybody worked on this microcontroller, please tell me how to get the sign bit.? How am I supposed to write to an datwsheet within the scratchpad memory when the input to the write function is of type UINT, which means I datashert only go as high as 0xFFFF, range from 0 to? What more do you want? What is the relation to from linear address to device address?

Thanks for your help. So the 16th bit will give idea about the sign of the bit. I really dont know which controller you are talking about. Still going through the manual. What address parameter could I input to write to that scratchpad memory? I am using CF microcontroller. But I am not sure. How to get the sign bit for the ADC output for the same. But I am talking about 16 bit ADC in differential mode. I am unable to get a solution what will be the output if the differential voltage is negative, since in my application both positive and negative voltage may come in the input.
