In that capacity, you discover that some of the highest elected and appointed political leaders in the land are engaged in espionage and treason, accepting bribes and selling weapons and information including nuclear weapons secrets to foreign powers, including our enemies. Sibel was horrified at the implications of her discoveries. She sought to have these clear and present dangers of espionage and treason investigated and prosecuted The FBI maligned her, communications were tapped, her life was threatened, her mother and a sister rejected her, Turkish authorities harassed her family, and AG John Ashcroft invoked the State Secrets privilege.
